New Schedule of School Based Assessment SBA 2023-24 


There are two main pillars of the School Education Department, one is called Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED) and the other is called Punjab Education Commission (PEC). The QAED plays an important role in promoting teachers, training, curriculum developments, research and conducting workshops while the PEC organizes the exams of public school students. In the recent past, PEC used to conduct the examination only for students of grades V and VIII to assess their learning progress.

In 2019, PEC introduced the “Assessment Policy Framework (APF)” and started to evaluate the progress of the students through School Based Assessment (SBA) from grade 1 to grade 8 in the mid of March every year. All the public schools are responsible for generating the papers through Item Bank System (IBS).

Assessment Policy Framework (APF) 2019 also demands SBA at three terminal levels in an academic year. For this purpose, PEC Commission approved the conduct of First-term & Mid-term Assessments along with the end-of-academic-year (terminal) assessment for SBA-2024 and onwards in its 29th meeting held on 27th April 2023. Now the students will be assessed in the month of September, December, and March every year as first-term, mid-term, and final-term assessments respectively. These assessments will help teachers to evaluate and improve the weak learning areas of the students throughout the year.

The approved timeline & test design of these assessments 2023 will be as follow.

Syllabus Coverage:

Item bank will be developed for each term covering the syllabus as per the academic calendar provided by QAED

Provision of Item Bank and Conduct of Assessment:

Item banks will be uploaded on schools’ Id through Item Bank System (IBS) at least one week before each assessment so that all schools may print/photocopies the papers well in time. After the conduct of each assessment, papers will be marked as per keys and rubrics provided along with papers in IBS.

Report cards as per the template provided by PEC will be issued to students after each assessment. It is, therefore, requested to kindly ensure the dissemination of these instructions to all schools (Public & Private) under your jurisdiction for teachers’ information, guidance and preparation of their students for first-term, mid-term and end-of-academic-year assessments.

 

New Schedule Of School Based Assessment SBA 2023-24

·         The Punjab Education Commission has issued a letter to the CEOs across Punjab on 10 August 2023 in which some instructions have been issued regarding School Based Assessment.

 

·         According to this letter, school-based assessment of all public school students from Grade 3 to Grade 8, which was conducted only once in March, will now be conducted three times a year from 2023-24.

 

·         This assessment has been named first term, second term and third term. According to the letter, the assessment of the first term will take place in the third and fourth week of September.

 

·         The second term assessment also known as mid term assessment will be conducted in the second and third week of December.

 

·         The third term/final term assessment will be held in the second and third week of March every year.

 

·         A week before the assessment, a paper bank will be sent to the school ID, which the teachers will generate and print.

 

·         A marking center will be established. Each subject will have at least one examiner and one head examiner.

 

·         The Head Examiner will re-check the first five out of ten papers. Number of checking both times on one form

·         Will be written. 1st and 2nd exam will be oral while Grade 3 to Grade 8 will be written

·         Report cards will be distributed among the children after each assessment. The report cards will be uploaded on the school ID

·         will go.

·         Each assessment will consist of MCQs and CRQs, the details of which are given above.

 

 

سکول بیسڈ اسیسمنٹس کا نیا شیڈول SBA 2023-24

 

سکول ایجوکیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے دو اہم ستون ہیں، ایک کو قائداعظم اکیڈمی فار ایجوکیشنل ڈویلپمنٹ (QAED) اور دوسرے کو پنجاب ایجوکیشن کمیشن (PEC) کہا جاتا ہے۔ QAED اساتذہ کو فروغ دینے، تربیت، نصاب کی ترقی، تحقیق اور ورکشاپس کے انعقاد میں اہم کردار ادا کرتا ہے جبکہ PEC سرکاری اسکولوں کے طلباء کے امتحانات کا اہتمام کرتا ہے۔ ماضی قریب میں، PEC صرف پانچویں اور آٹھویں جماعت کے طلباء کے لیے ان کی سیکھنے کی پیشرفت کا اندازہ لگانے کے لیے امتحان لیتا تھا۔

2019 میں، PEC نے "اسسمنٹ پالیسی فریم ورک (APF)" متعارف کرایا اور ہر سال مارچ کے وسط میں گریڈ 1 سے گریڈ 8 تک اسکول بیسڈ اسسمنٹ (SBA) کے ذریعے طلباء کی پیشرفت کا جائزہ لینا شروع کیا۔ تمام سرکاری اسکول آئٹم بینک سسٹم (IBS) کے ذریعے کاغذات تیار کرنے کے ذمہ دار ہیں۔

ان تشخیص 2023 کی منظور شدہ ٹائم لائن اور ٹیسٹ ڈیزائن مندرجہ ذیل ہو گا۔

نصاب کا احاطہ:

QAED کی طرف سے فراہم کردہ تعلیمی کیلنڈر کے مطابق نصاب کا احاطہ کرنے والی ہر اصطلاح کے لیے آئٹم بینک تیار کیا جائے گا۔

آئٹم بینک کی فراہمی اور تشخیص کا طرز عمل:

آئٹم بینک ہر اسیسمنٹ سے کم از کم ایک ہفتہ قبل آئٹم بینک سسٹم (IBS) کے ذریعے اسکولوں کے آئی ڈی پر اپ لوڈ کیے جائیں گے تاکہ تمام اسکول وقت پر کاغذات کی اچھی طرح پرنٹ/فوٹو کاپی کرسکیں۔ ہر تشخیص کے انعقاد کے بعد، کاغذات کو IBS میں کاغذات کے ساتھ فراہم کردہ کلیدوں اور روبرکس کے مطابق نشان زد کیا جائے گا۔

PEC کی طرف سے فراہم کردہ ٹیمپلیٹ کے مطابق رپورٹ کارڈ طلباء کو ہر اسسمنٹ کے بعد جاری کیے جائیں گے۔ لہذا، درخواست کی جاتی ہے کہ برائے مہربانی ان ہدایات کو اپنے دائرہ اختیار کے تحت تمام اسکولوں (پبلک اور پرائیویٹ) میں اساتذہ کی معلومات، رہنمائی اور ان کے طلباء کی پہلی مدت، وسط مدتی اور اختتامی تعلیمی تیاری کے لیے یقینی بنائیں۔ -سال کی تشخیص۔

 

اسکول پر مبنی اسیسمنٹس کا نیا شیڈول SBA 2023-24

• پنجاب ایجوکیشن کمیشن نے 10 اگست 2023 کو پنجاب بھر کے سی ای اوز کو ایک خط جاری کیا ہے جس میں سکول بیسڈ اسیسمنٹ کے حوالے سے کچھ ہدایات جاری کی گئی ہیں۔

 

• اس خط کے مطابق، گریڈ 3 سے گریڈ 8 تک کے تمام سرکاری اسکولوں کے طلباء کا اسکول پر مبنی جائزہ، جو مارچ میں صرف ایک بار منعقد کیا جاتا تھا، اب 2023-24 سے سال میں تین بار کیا جائے گا۔

 

• اس تشخیص کو پہلی مدت، دوسری مدت اور تیسری مدت کا نام دیا گیا ہے۔ خط کے مطابق پہلی مدت کا تعین ستمبر کے تیسرے اور چوتھے ہفتے میں ہوگا۔

 

• دوسری مدت کی تشخیص جسے وسط مدتی تشخیص بھی کہا جاتا ہے دسمبر کے دوسرے اور تیسرے ہفتے میں کیا جائے گا۔

 

• تیسرا ٹرم/فائنل ٹرم اسسمنٹ ہر سال مارچ کے دوسرے اور تیسرے ہفتے میں منعقد کیا جائے گا۔

 

• تشخیص سے ایک ہفتہ پہلے، اسکول کی شناخت پر ایک کاغذی بینک بھیجا جائے گا، جسے اساتذہ تیار کریں گے اور پرنٹ کریں گے۔

 

• ایک مارکنگ سینٹر قائم کیا جائے گا۔ ہر مضمون میں کم از کم ایک ممتحن اور ایک ہیڈ ایگزامینر ہوگا۔

 

• ہیڈ ایگزامینر دس میں سے پہلے پانچ پرچوں کی دوبارہ جانچ کرے گا۔ ایک فارم پر دونوں بار چیک کرنے کی تعداد

• لکھا جائے گا۔ پہلا اور دوسرا امتحان زبانی ہوگا جبکہ گریڈ 3 تا گریڈ 8 تحریری ہوگا۔

• ہر تشخیص کے بعد بچوں میں رپورٹ کارڈ تقسیم کیے جائیں گے۔ رپورٹ کارڈز اسکول کی شناخت پر اپ لوڈ کیے جائیں گے۔
